I have a first class degree in Arts Management from the University of Leeds and have extensive experience working with young people in a myriad of settings. For the past two year I have worked in the Maths department of a Lewisham secondary school with students with varied abilities and needs. I have undertaken focused work with borderline students in preparation for their GCSE exams and run after school groups for younger students who have been identified as needing extra-curricular support.
At SLT, I assist students individually or in small groups to help them improve their maths skills. I monitor student progress, identify areas needing improvement and prepare them for upcoming assessments. I am patient and pride myself on my attention to detail and ability to give instructions clearly – simplifying maths concepts while coaching students to think critically to solve problems. I provide a fun and interesting learning environment in which questions and discussion is encouraged.
